Job Description

Your Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity awaits as a Mental Health Therapist! This role will support both Camrose and Tofield and for the right candidate may be able to accommodate either location as the primary site.

The City of Camrose is considered by many as one of the most beautiful cities on the prairies, boasting an exceptional quality of life for both citizens and visitors. We are committed to the preservation and protection of our natural park areas, our clean and healthy environment, and the safety of our residents.

The Town of Tofield is situated 68 km east of Edmonton on highway 14 and is easily commutable from the city of Edmonton if big city living is what you are looking for. From Farmers’ Markets to Swim Lessons to Show and Shines, to the Sodbuster Rodeo to the Spring Nature Festival, there is always an event to attend or be involved in.

The ideal candidate will have a complete and valid license under the Health Professions Act. You will have the opportunity to work with adults experiencing a wide range of challenging clinical issues in a rural setting. You will be supported by a well-established and knowledgeable team while working independently to provide psychosocial intervention to clients. You will be working with the various programs on an as needed basis, conducting clinical activities such as initial intake for service, hospital consultations, crisis intervention and follow-up, single session counselling, and follow up interventions. At times, there may be a requirement to work within a community agency in Camrose and area.

Clinical supervision for ACSW provisionals will be provided free of charge to the successful candidate.

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
