Our High Prairie Mental Health and Addictions team has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Therapist, Children & Youth to perform individual therapy, case management, documentation, and weekly clinics in nearby communities. Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll build a positive rapport with youth and their families and motivate parents to engage in the therapeutic process. In this position, you will have the support of a knowledgeable clinical team and ongoing professional development opportunities. Moving expense reimbursement and temporary accommodation will be provided as available.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: 1) Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization; 2) Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related Master’s degree including training and/or considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; 3) Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with related Master’s degree including training or experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Candidates without a related Master’s Degree must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience.
