Occupational Therapy Services as a whole work to achieve consistent, sustainable, quality, evidence informed clinical practice across Interior Health in order to achieve positive patient/client outcomes and provider experiences. As a member of the 100 Mile House rehabilitation team, you will travel within a radius of 30-40 minutes from 100 Mile House conducting home visits assessing for client safety in the home, falls risk and mitigation, post discharge follow up, assess mobility/transfers and teach family or report back to Home Support, assessment of equipment and dysphagia screening. As well as seeing clients in facility to assess transfers, need for use of lift, mobility programs, falls prevention, equipment inquiries from other LTC staff, equipment assessment and prescription, assist Registered Dietitian with swallow assessments and prevention of skin breakdown. This position directs and supervises a Rehab Assistant who carries out the programs with the clients.
Reporting to the Professional Practice Leader, Allied Health and Clinical Operations North, you will liaise with other community partners such as Home and Community Care, Home Support and the 100 Mile House Hospital and attend client and family team conferences for the clients supported by Occupational Therapy.
Days of work are Monday to Friday with weekends and statutory holidays off. Hourly rate of pay is $36.51 to $45.37; to be determined with the successful candidate. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health. • Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid Driver’s license.
