ACT is an evidence based orientation to psychotherapy that is based on functional contextualism as a philosophy and Relational Frame Theory (RFT). ACT uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies and process based interventions. ACT is a transdiagnostic approach where by practitioners in all allied health professions
utilize ACT concepts with in the lens of their unique professions. This training is ideal for therapists, physicians, occupational therapists, behavior support workers and others looking to integrate ACT into their practice.
You can attend just the first day or all 3 days to gain intensive knowledge and experience utilizing ACT with children & adolescents by diving deep into attachment
science and trauma informed care (which is relevant for all areas). Being a flexible process transdiagnostic approach this knowledge can easily be adapted into all populations including working with adults.
I will also be joining with Tim to explore integrating knowledge from OT including self regulation & interoception in an ACT framework.
