Carlyn provides virtual and community-based mental health occupational therapy services for adults who are struggling to fully engage in the activities that bring meaning to their lives due to depression, anxiety, and the effects of traumatic experiences. She has a keen interest in the unique impacts of ADHD and giftedness on adult mental health and sees the emotional disruption that often occurs in these individuals in the middle years of their lives as a catalyst for growth in ways that would otherwise not have occurred.
In 2020, Carlyn eveloped a personal development coaching program called ACTivate Vitality: Rise and Live Fully to support other visionary occupational therapists who are stuck with perfectionism, overthinking, and fear of failure get into confidence-building, trailblazing action so that they can work and live with authenticity, fulfillment and vitality! She published a personal development planner of the same name via Amazon. More info on these products is available at www.balanceworks.online.
In addition to her occupational therapy training, Carlyn studied psychology pre-professionally. She has pursued additional training in cognitive assessment, behavioural activation, graded exposure therapy, ergonomics, and trauma interventions.
Passionate about continuing education, she is able to provide the following assessments and treatments: Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS Therapy), as well as BrainFx 360 and Cambridge Brain Sciences cognitive assessments. Carlyn is a Certified Life Coach Practitioner.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most services are provided virtually.
