Private Practice InfoPrivate Practice Name: Deborah Dong Occupational Therapy and Acupuncture
Years in Practice: more than 20 years but less than 30 years
I have a private practice specializing in pediatrics but also serve the adult population. I have been an Occupational Therapist since 1994 and from 2012, started integrating OT theory and practice with those of Acupuncture. I have a full licence also with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta. The combination of western and eastern therapies are proving to be a powerful combination and have improved my therapy outcomes immensely. Areas well treated by acupuncture include mental health issues (depression, anxiety, anger management, Tourettes Syndrome), Autism Spectrum and other developmental conditions, physical conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, and muscle weakness. Children are much better able to participate in and succeed in academic, play and social activities when they are calm, regulated and able to access motor and cognitive skills.
Adult therapy is available for injuries/conditions typically treated by occupational therapists - musculosketelal injuries, mental health conditions, neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's, Alzheimers.
