I am a registered, and practicing Occupational Therapist and certified Personal Trainer with 30+ years of aquatic exercise and swim training experience.
While working collaboratively with client's, my practice strives to promote "Wellness Through Water"® . This statement imbues how the aquatic environment can support a client's functional independence and active community living.. I am dedicated to creating a bridge between water and land via my aquatic experience as well as my occupational therapy and personal training skills. I celebrate the steps however big or small that each client takes towards their goals.
Catch The Wave Water Fitness Inc. provides each client with a safe and unique aquatic and land experience by creating a specifically targeted aquatic / and or land program that promotes muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, balance and cardio respiratory fitness. For example, a sense of calm and relaxation can be experienced through aquatic yoga, Tai Chi and/or Pilates which can reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. While Catch The Wave Water Fitness Inc. programs are specifically targeted for the client, programs do not focus on one area of illness or disability but instead, offers a holistic approach that can be fostered through the meshing of the aquatic and land environment. Alternatively, high performance land and aquatic services for novice to pro athletes is also available.
Services include: personal aquatic and/or land training, aquatic rehabilitation, tethering, group (up to 2 persons) training, sports conditioning, aquatic therapy for arthritis, Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, aquatic respite care from ages +5 years, aquatic pre/post Natal, walking, running training, learn to swim basics and aquatic training or rehabilitation for individuals living with obesity.
Services are provided in community pools within Edmonton and surrounding area.
