I am a registered, provisional occupational therapist who has recently graduated from the University of Alberta Occupational Therapy program and has 30+ years of aquatic exercise and swim training experience.
While working collaboratively with client's, my practice strives to promote Wellness Through Water™ - to support a client's functional independence and active community living through the use of the aquatic environment. I am dedicated to mesh my previous aquatic knowledge and experience with my newly acquired occupational therapy knowledge to celebrate the steps however big or small that each client takes towards their goals. .
Catch The Wave Water Fitness provides each client with a safe and unique aquatic experience by creating a specifically targeted program that promotes muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, balance and cardio respiratory fitness. A sense of calm and relaxation can also be experienced through aquatic yoga, Tai Chi and/or Pilates that can reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. While Catch The Wave Water Fitness programs are specifically targeted for the client, programs do not focus on one area of illness or disability but instead, offer a holistic approach that can be fostered through the aquatic environment.
