Private Practice Info

Private Practice Name: Blossom OT Services Inc.
Website: http://www.blossomotservices.com
Years in Practice: more than 15 years but less than 20 years
Description:

I am the Director of a Pediatric Occupational Therapy private practice based out of Calgary and am also a Registered and Practicing OT. My team and I are partnered with community based early childhood programs and provide in-classroom support to children ages 3-6 years to support their ongoing development and growth in these early years.

We also offer in-person direct/virtual clinic based support to children ages 2-16 years and their caregivers in NW Calgary. We focus on providing services that are holistic, play-based and family centred and we LOVE to partner with other professionals in order to provide the most authentic and holistic therapy services to our clients and their families.

Nervous system regulation is one of my areas of speciality and a true passion for helping clients shift into a more regulated state. I am trained in a listening therapy called Safe and Sound Protocol. This type of modality is like a "window" to increase resilience and stress management in the autonomic nervous system when used in combination with regulation strategies, tools and activities.

We offer school-based, in-home and virtual consultations in the areas of:
- Sensory Processing (i.e. how we recognize, interpret and respond to sensory input from our bodies and outside environment)
- Self-Regulation (i.e. how we respond to and manage stress)
- Safe and Sound Protocol (therapeutic listening therapy)
- Fine Motor Skills (e.g. two hand-coordination, drawing, cutting, coloring etc.)
- Visual Processing (i..e. our ability to adequately process visual information)
- Handwriting (e.g. early literacy, legibility, adaptive tools and task modifications)
- Self-Help Skills (e.g. toileting, dressing, picky eating, sleeping)
- Leisure and Play...because PLAY IS CHILDREN'S WORK!!!

Sessions may include but are not limited to: assessment, informal parent interview, child observations, direct therapy interventions and report writing. We also have many resources to share and provide to our clients to help support the generalization and carry over of skills into the home.
